Computerisation of Maps

Highlights

Generated Village level profiles of Andaman District viz, Population, Power supply, Availability of medical institutions, Availability of Post & Telegraph facility , Generated  profiles of Major roads, Other roads, Drainage Network, Roads with Drainage Network.

Objective

Digitizing the Andaman District Map with Village, Tehsil, Island boundaries & linked the 1991 Census data. Digitizing the Port Blair Town map  pertaining to  Road Network and Drainage  Network using SPANS s/w.  

Cadastral Maps

Highlights

Provide location-specific solutions to any problem, having importance in development planning. Generation of Thematic Maps using the non-spatial database like Land Records, Socio-economic data etc.

Objective

Computerising  the Cadastral Maps of the Andaman & Nicobar Union Territory. Linking the spatial database of the maps with the non-spatial database.  

Land Information System

A Video Conferencing Session was held on 4-9-2001 between the DDG (NIC Hq) and DC(Andamans), SIO, DIO to discuss about the Project to be taken up during the 10th Five Year Plan.

To this effect, a Project Report on Land Information System has to be prepared by NIC in coordination with the DC Office for Land Records Computerisation & Digitization of Cadastral maps and to link the Spatial Database with the Non-Spatial Database of Land Records for Thematic Map generation.
